Over the last years the Spanish and Portuguese economies grew above the European average. Covid-19 hit hard, but now it is time to reconstruct. Large amounts of Next Generation EU funds are expected to boost the economic recovery in the coming years, with special emphasis on green and digital. Tune in to get answers to the following questions!

The share of renewables in the energy mix is increasing while there are promising developments in new technologies, such as in green hydrogen. Changed legislations and large amounts of (foreign) investment give currently a boost to the sector. What are the expectations in the coming years for the use of wind, sun and hydrogen?

Agrofood theme session; Agriculture & Horticulture


The agrifood sector has showed his resilience during the Covid pandemic. In Spain and Portugal it was the least hit sector and consumers showed more appreciation for healthy foods. The need to increase the sustainability of the production and to adapt the production to the climate change stays unchanged. In this session we will explore the possibilities for Dutch companies to do business in Spain and Portugal and share useful tips and knowledge.
This session has several topics that will be addressed;
o Tips and tricks to get started in the agrifood sector in Portugal;
o The Rabobank will take you on a tour of the Spanish and Portuguese horticulture: facts & figures, developments and opportunities

Sustainable mobility theme session; Innovative solutions for immediate challenges


Spain aims at promoting electric mobility through the development of charging infrastructure, innovation in the electric mobility value chain and renewal of Spanish vehicle fleet. Furthermore, city councils are looking for ways to transform the urban mobility in the areas of environmental sustainability and digitalisation.

Portugal already had some international benchmarks in what comes sustainable mobility at Municipal level. The Covid-19 pandemic significantly accelerated some trends, while the upcoming EU funds will boost investments aiming at structural changing the transport ecosystem. Decreasing the dependency on car use and decarbonize the transport sector are the main goals that will create the need for innovative solutions. This session will be divided in two parts;
o Opportunities by transformation of urban mobility - Sustainable mobility panel Spain;
o Which solutions for making urban mobility more sustainable? - Sustainable mobility panel Portugal
